Good news all around

We couldn't be more happy to announce that Chris Kempel our fearless leader in all things related to design has achieved knighthood the official status of LICENSED ARCHITECT. Yes, Chris can now proudly stamp his drawings with The American Institute of Architects (AIA) seal of approval. Since taking the oral exam in San Francisco about five weeks ago Chris has been anxiously checking his mailbox for that telling letter and when it arrived on Monday, May 14, he slipped it into his pocket and didn't tell a soul in the RPA office. We only found out when his beau, Ashley, stopped by Tuesday afternoon with an icecream cake saying "Congratulations Christopher Kempel, AIA." After we ate the whole delicious thing we asked what the occasion was and that's when Chris shared the good news. He's always looked and acted like an architect, now it's official!

By the way, if you're wondering if that's fly tape hanging off of the desk lamp behind Chris, you're absolutely right, it is fly tape. We are still battling the beasts that are fruit flies. Anyone who thinks they can take them on feel free to call us - we're open to advice.

Back to good news! Today, Bridget announced that she too has passed another milestone on her way to becoming a member of the AIA club. Girl Wonder here passed two of the 10 exams (both General Structures and Materials & Methods) on her first try - we're thinking that she'll ride this momentum and be licensed within no time.  We hope it's sooner than later because we'd sure like another icecream cake.

Rocky has been out on vacation for the past week while we've maintained a steady clip. A couple major hurdles are behind us for the time being. Now we're awaiting the two interns who will be joining us for the summer. We imagine great things being accomplished with their help.

And finally, Brian, Chris, and Alexis attended the AIA convention in San Antonio and returned to LA with some good stories. I'm pretty sure they learned some things too. Now we're waiting for all the material samples to start rolling in.
