Look, I'll be honest, it wasn't easy returning to the office. After a week off (or more for some of us) coming to El Segundo the second day of 2008 was an act of will. But it didn't take long for the post-holiday blues to wear off. After all, we're quite fond of each other and even though we may not admit it, I think we kind of missed the camaraderie. (Right guys?!) Also, there remained a solid represenation of holiday goodies in the kitchen. And of course there are all these fabulous projects that needed to get back on track. (We expect at least three projects will be completed in the first half of the year!)
Even though we as an office haven't created a list of "RPA new year resolutions" I'm taking it upon myself to post a few of my own. Perhpas this will inspire my cohorts to come up with some they'd like to share with the universe.
2008 Goals at RPA
1. Reduce donut intake to one per box.
2. Eat lunch with Barry and Keith once a week and convert them to vegetarianism.
3. Get RPA the recognition they deserve.
(Not necessarily in that order)

What other office in LA gets a holiday visit from the bearded one? This proves that our little corner of the world, which is literally a corner (Arena and Franklin), is exciting, even if it is embedded in an industrial/residential neighborhood of a town that happens to be the home of one of the biggest oil refineries in the U.S. (We don't make that a bragging point but it is kind of interesting). Anyway, if it's good enough for Santa to take the time to cruise through, literally, it's good enough for us.
Ok, maybe Santa's presence doesn't qualify as exciting but it is entertaining and kind of charming.
