Welcome 2009!

The holiday season seemed to fly but we didn't let it go by without celebrating as an office/close group of friends at a luncheon in our beach town 'hood, of El Segundo. We were glad to have among us Baby Hay, aka Era, Brittany's young 'un. We celebrated our friendships and the many successes of 2008 including the completion of the Mandeville Canyon and 33rd Place projects, and the forthcoming completion of the El Dorado.  90% of the west facade is done and we expect all construction to wrap up in May. It's been a long, arduous job, but in the end we will have overseen the work of a fabulous and historically significant L.A. building. This makes us proud.

Also, the IN Van Nuys Building is cleaning up real nice and residents are returning to bright refurbished apartments. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. This also makes us proud

In 2008, the work of RPA was featured in several publications and editors are clamoring for our recently completed and very sexy projects - like the Treehouse. Also, Rocky was asked to contribute to a forthcoming book that offers advice to homebuyers from an architect's perspective. He'll be working on his contribution in the coming months. But in the mean time, be sure to check out Rocky's advice in the on-line zine, Custom Builder.

Finally, we'd like to thank everyone for the cards and gifts we received over the holidays. We truly appreciate your generous spirits and year round support. We hope that you have a healthy and prosperous New Year!

Baby, medals, and a latte
Tuesday, 28 October 2008

Welcome baby Era Matthew Haydock. Apparently, manicures induce labor, at least that's what Brittany was doing just hours before she dashed off to the hospital to have little Era. This fine young fella was born on October 25, around 10:00 pm, and the world is better for it, though we would be lying  to ourselves if we didn't admit that we won't benefit from the loss of Brittany's sunny disposition and fine work. Her time is now Era's and we'll just have to live with that....

In other news: Check out Team Rockefeller 2008 - Up one notch from last year by taking third place in the Triathlon at Hermosa Beach.  Keith=run Brian=ride and Alexis=swim.  The fine lady in the hat? That's Bridget. I guess she was participating in the latte drinking part of the competition. Go BZ!
