Echo Park, CA

This unusual brick building is located on a hillside site in the historic Echo Park neighborhood, just minutes from downtown Los Angeles. The building was a hotel before it was converted into modest apartments in the mid-1900s, and it's been rumored that Marilyn Monroe stayed here.
Construction on the condominium conversion project began in winter 2006. When completed, this housing project will include exposed red brick walls, hardwood floors, new windows, and high-end kitchens and bathrooms. Penthouse units will have private roof decks. The development will also tout amenities such as a garden pool and secure parking.
