Hidden behind years of poorly planned renovations on this 1934 building were the chevrons, pilasters and ironwork of an Art Deco style structure. After the initial conversion plans were abandoned in favor of restoring the historic details, the design team integrated a series of new architectural elements designed to compliment the style of the renovated building.

The awnings/sun shades are altered in response to the rhythm and configuration of the bays and a series of up-lights illuminate and accentuate the chevrons and pilasters.  A tower remains the central part of the new scheme, encompassing and exhibiting the architectural detail of the corner facade.

Status: Completed in 1991
Project Size: 12,200 s.f.
Architectural Team: Rocky Rockefeller, AIA, Michael Hricak, FAIA, Robert Fry
